Biographical information

He was born on October 12, 1927 in Kiev. In 1942 he was taken to work in Germany. In January 1945 he escaped. After returning home, he joined the army, where he served until October 1948. After a break, he entered the 9th grade of an evening school, which he graduated in 1950. In the same year he became a student of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Kiev State University. T. G. Shevchenko. Upon completion in 1955, he connected his labor activity with the Institute of Mechanics of the NAS of Ukraine. Here, Grigorenko went from a senior engineer to a senior research fellow, from 1977 to 1987 he worked as deputy director of the institute for scientific work. In 1961, he defended his PhD, and in 1970, his doctoral dissertation. Since 1978 - corresponding member of the USSR Academy of Sciences; since 1992 - academician

Scientific activity

Through his works, he made a significant contribution to a number of branches of the mechanics of a deformable solid. Important results have been obtained on the mechanics of flexible shells; approaches to solving problems are proposed and the stress state of the shells in the subcritical and supercritical regions is studied; approaches to solving two-dimensional nonlinear problems are developed and the behavior of shells under the influence of non-axisymmetric force and temperature loads is investigated. Ya. M. Grigorenko proposed methods for solving partial differential equations in problems of mechanics. The calculation methods developed by the scientist are very versatile, implemented and widely used in the design and creation of rational structures in power engineering and rocket and space technology.

The scientific results obtained by Ya. M. Grigorenko are reflected in 26 monographs and more than 400 scientific articles. Yaroslav Mikhailovich created a scientific school, in which under his leadership a lot of work is carried out to develop various aspects of the theory and develop calculation methods in the field of inhomogeneous anisotropic shells and elastic bodies. He prepared 7 doctors and 40 candidates of sciences. Ya. M. Grigorenko took part in many international conferences, symposia and seminars that took place in Japan, the USA , Greece, Germany, Belgium, Great Britain, Austria, and Poland.

The scientist's contribution to the mechanics of a rigid deformed body is awarded with prizes. For a series of works on the general theory of shells and the study of stress fields, Y. M. Grigorenko was awarded the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in the field of science and technology (1979). He is the author of the monograph "Methods for the calculation of shells", awarded the State Prize of the Ukrainian SSR in the field of science and technology (1986). He was awarded personal prizes - them. M.K. Yangel Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (1985) and them. A.M. Dinnik, NAS of Ukraine (1996).

Yaroslav Mikhailovich is a deputy academician-secretary of the Department of Mechanics of the NAS of Ukraine, a member of the National Committee of Ukraine, is a member of the scientific councils of the NAS of Ukraine on the problem of “Mechanics of a deformed solid”, “Improving the reliability and durability of machines and structures”, “Scientific foundations of heat engines”, "Computational mathematics . " He is a member of the editorial board of the international scientific journal Applied Mechanics.

The merits of Ya. M. Grigorenko were marked by government awards: eight medals and an Honorary Diploma of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the Ukrainian SSR.

  • Determination of the stress-strain state of anisotropic heat-sensitive cylinders / Ya. M. Grigorenko, A. T. Vasilenko // Mat. methods and physical. fields. - 1998. - 41, N 1. - S. 73-77. - Bibliography: 10 titles. - Ukrainian

In a spatial formulation, a class of stress problems is considered for an axisymmetrically heated anisotropic cylinder randomly inhomogeneous in thickness, taking into account the dependence of mechanical characteristics on temperature. Solutions of boundary value problems are performed by a numerical method. The study of temperature and mechanical fields in composite cylinders.

  • Determination of temperature fields and stresses in inhomogeneous anisotropic shells in different settings / Ya. M. Grigorenko, A. T. Vasilenko // Mat. methods and physical. fields. - 2003. - 46, N 1. - S. 21-31. - Bibliography: 25 titles. - Ukrainian

Approaches to the determination of the thermally stressed state of some classes of shells in classical, refined, and spatial formulations are proposed. In the classical formulation, the problems of the deformation of shells of revolution, non-ring cylindrical shells, and shallow rectangular shells in plan are considered. The solution of the problem of determining the deflections in two-layer cylindrical and conical shells and an annular plate is given. Within the framework of the refined model of the rectilinear element, supplemented by taking into account the temperature reduction in thickness, the problem of deformation of a three-layer parabolic shell of revolution with a filler is solved. Based on the relations of the spatial theory of elasticity of an anisotropic body, the problems of determining temperature fields and stresses in layered cylindrical shells are solved. An approach to solving the problems of deformation of long hollow cylinders due to the action of temperature, which periodically varies in time, is proposed.

  • Heterogeneous mathematical model of an elastic body with a thin flexible bend inclusion / L. I. Vinnitsa, Ya. M. Grigorenko, Ya. G. Savula // Add. NAS of Ukraine. - 2009. - N 9. - S. 62-66. - Bibliography: 8 titles. - Ukrainian

A heterogeneous mathematical model of an elastic body with a thin inclusion is described. The stress-strain state of the inclusion is modeled by the relations of the momentless theory of shells; for the massive part, the relations of the classical theory of elasticity are applied. The results of numerical experiments are provided for a plane problem, which describes the extension of a plate with a circular hole. The effect of a thin coating on the stress concentration coefficient and stress distribution in the plate is investigated.

  • Deformation of a flexible non-circular long cylindrical shell under uneven load / Ya. M. Grigorenko, Yu. By. Kasyan // Example. Mechanics. - 2001. - 37, N 3. - S. 65-70. - Bibliography: 15 titles. - Russian

An exact solution to the nonlinear problem of subcritical and supercritical deformation of an elastic long cylindrical shell with a non-circular cross section under conditions of uneven loading and rigid contour fixing is constructed. The solution is presented in the form of two dependencies expressed in terms of elementary functions. The graphs show how the magnitude of the deflection varies depending on the laws of change in curvature and load distribution.
