Until July, the team was led by Serbian coach Vuk Rasovic , who accepted the team during the previous season. In autumn 2015, club president Yuri Chizh , answering questions from a journalist, announced his intention to leave the head coach:

In May 2016, after a long win-win series Dynamo, CEO Alim Selimov expressed his support to the coach:
- Rashovich? I understand what you're leading to. I’ll just say that this person took the team in a not very good moral condition. This is when he took the team after Ugrin. He brought the team to the Europa League group. Tell me, how many Dynamo coaches did this? In addition to Crane and Rashovich, no one succeeded.

However, on July 15, 2016, the day after the match with St. Patricks Athletic (1: 1), official information appeared about the resignation of Rashovich and his coaching staff. The new head coach was Sergey Borovsky , who previously worked as a sports director [11] .

The first official match of the season was played at the FC Minsk stadium ( Cup match against Torpedo-BelAZ ). All home matches of the championship , as well as the first meetings in the framework of the 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds of the Europa League (against Jurmala's “ Spartak ” and “ St. Patricks Athletic ”) took place at the Minsk stadium “ Tractor ” . Dynamo holds home games at this stadium for the fourth consecutive season, as the main stadium of the club - Dynamo Uni - is closed for reconstruction [12] . The home match of the 3rd qualifying round of the Europa League was played in Brest at the Brestsky stadium. Dynamo played a friendly match against the Mogilev Dnipro on the artificial field of FC Minsk.
