Bophan Center ( Khmer. បុប្ផា ណា ) is a non-governmental organization based in Phnom Penh ( Cambodia ). Engaged in the search, protection and restoration of audiovisual materials on the history of the genocide in Cambodia . Founded at the end of 2006 , co-founders are filmmakers Yeuu Pannakar and Rithi Pan . The center is an official member of the International Federation of Television Archives (FIAT) and the International Federation of Film Archives (FIAF).

History
In 1975-1979 the Khmer Rouge Pol Pot were in power in Cambodia. During the years of their reign, most of Cambodia’s cultural heritage was destroyed. During the 1990s. Rithi Pan and the former head of the Cambodian Film Center worked to create a center to restore audio-visual materials on the history of Cambodia. The Bophan Center finally took shape in the early 2000s with the support of the French National Institute of Audiovisual Materials (INA). The opening ceremony was held in Phnom Penh on December 4, 2006.
