Petr Fedoseevich Gozhik (born October 21, 1937, town of Goshcha , Rivne region ) - Soviet and Ukrainian scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in the specialty: paleontology and stratigraphy (election date: 06.05.2006), director of the Institute of Geological Sciences. President of the Paleontological Society of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; Chairman of the National Stratigraphic Committee of Ukraine; Member of the Scientific and Technical Council for Antarctic Research; Member of the Commission of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine on Scientific Heritage Academician V. I. Vernadsky; Chairman of the Oil and Gas Section of the Committee on State Prizes of Ukraine in Science and of engineering, doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences, honored worker of science and technology of Ukraine, twice winner of the State Prize of Ukraine, winner of the NAS of Ukraine prize. Biography
- 1954 - graduated from Goschansk secondary school;
- 1954 - 1959 - study at Chernivtsi State University;
- 1959 - Director of the Krasnovolsk eight-year school and high school of rural youth;
- 1960 - Graduate School of the Institute of Geological Sciences, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR;
- 1966 - defended his thesis;
- 1992 - doctoral thesis defense;
- 1993 - creation of the Center for Antarctic Research HAH Ukraine;
- 1995 - Memorandum on the transfer to Ukraine of the British Antarctic station "Faraday" (now - "Academician Vernadsky" );
- 1996 - the first and second Ukrainian integrated Antarctic expeditions, the State research program in the Antarctic.
Scientific Activities
PF Gozhyk is a recognized expert in freshwater mollusks from Neo- Quaternary sediments in southern Eastern Europe. He is devoted to his numerous articles and four monographs. They described one new genus, two subgenera, and 48 species of freshwater mollusks.
