Calmeyer, Karl Friedrich Wilhelm

Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Kalmeijer ( German: Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Kallmeyer ; Latvian; Karls Fridrihs Vilhelms Kalmeijers ; 1775 - 1854 ) - Courland priest and teacher. He served in the Jelgava gymnasium.

He wrote a book for reading in Latvian, “Friend of Children” ( Latvian: Bērnu mīļotais , in the old spelling “Behrnu millotis”; Mitava, 1825 ). He was one of the active authors of The Latvian Newspaper ( Latvian. Latviešu Avīzes , in the old spelling Latweeschu awises), which appeared in Jelgava since 1822 .
