Original and Extended Original Campaigns
Test of Time includes the original campaign, which was present in Civilization II , with a number of minor changes. The external differences are especially strong - in the game the graphics are almost completely redone and unit animation has appeared. An expanded original campaign also appeared in which the “pink” slot is occupied by the Centaurians civilization living in the Alpha Centauri system , with which the player enters the war, who sent a spaceship to Alpha Centauri (in the original game, the arrival of the ship immediately led to victory in Game). The player can also play for aliens, but then you have to wait a long time for the arrival of earthlings.
Sci-fi campaign
The action of this campaign takes place in the planetary system of the really existing star Lalande 21185 ( Eng. Lalande 21185 ) in the constellation Ursa Major . According to the plot of this campaign, the colonists from the second ship directed to Alpha Centauri were transferred by an unknown artifact for many spaceships to the Laland 21185 system and made an emergency landing on Funestis, one of the planets of this system. The game takes place on 5 different maps, including Funestis, orbital platforms in its orbit, the planet Navmachia ( Eng. Naumachia ) and ancient platforms in the upper layers of the gas giant Nona ( Eng. Nona ). Also, by pure chance, at the same time a colonial ship of aliens (not Centauri) fell on the planet (also by accident). Like earthly colonists, aliens are divided into fractions.
An interesting feature of this campaign are technologies that cannot be studied until “something happens”. For example, when hit by Nona, mysterious spherical mechanisms begin to attack the player. By destroying one of them, the player gets the opportunity to study their structure with appropriate technology. Artificial platforms on Nona also deserve a separate study.
To win the campaign, the human player must build a ship to return to Earth.
Fantasy campaign
The fantasy campaign, based on German-Scandinavian mythology, takes place simultaneously on 4 maps (surface of the earth, underground world, underwater world and sky).
In the scenario there are 7 races ( elves , sea creatures , goblins and others). At the same time, elves started on the surface of the earth, goblins - in the underworld, the sea race - under water.
For this campaign, the Midgard script was released, in which to win the script it is necessary to build a huge siege machine to destroy the divine fortress.
