Viktor Petrovich Shestopalov (January 23, 1923 - November 28, 1999) - Soviet physicist originally from the city of Slavyansk, full member of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR (since 1979).

Biography
He graduated from Kharkov University (1949), worked at the Kharkov Institute of Measures (1949-1950), head of the departments of Kharkov ped. Institute (1958-1963), Kharkov Institute of Radio Electronics (1963-1969), Kharkov University (1969-1971), from 1965 he worked at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR , since 1973 its director.
Shestopalov made a significant contribution to the theory of diffraction, transmission and reception of electromagnetic microwaves.
