Rostislav Vsevolodovich Chagovets ( September 21, 1904 , Kiev - September 11, 1982 , Kiev ) - Soviet biochemist . Full member of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (since 1967). Academic Secretary of the Department of Biochemistry, Biophysics, Physiology and Theoretical Medicine, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR. Son of Vsevolod Chagovets .

Biography
Born in Kiev. His father was a famous writer and publicist, and his uncle Vasily Andreevich Chagovets was a famous physiologist .
In 1925 he graduated from the Kiev Institute of National Education . After graduation he worked as a teacher of natural sciences in the labor school.
Professor (in 1932 - 1950 ) of the Kiev Medical Institute ; Since 1933 - Fellow of the Institute of Biochemistry, Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR .
He died on September 11, 1982. Buried at Baikovo cemetery.
Scientific Activities
Chagovets's work focuses on the experimental basics of vitamin therapy and the use of vitamins in animal husbandry and the like. The monograph "Transport of fat-soluble vitamins", the author of 190 scientific works, of which a number is devoted to philosophical questions of biology .
He was a member of the editorial board of the Ukrainian Soviet Encyclopedia , "Ukrainian Biochemical Journal", "Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR", the journal "Nutrition Issues".
He trained 3 doctors and 15 candidates of science .
Awards
- Honored Scientist of the Ukrainian SSR (1964).
- Award of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine named after AV Palladin in 1980 for the monograph “Transport of fat-soluble vitamins” (together with Khalmuradov Askar Ganievich and Totsky Vladlen Nikolayevich).
