Description
Small ants (body length about 5 mm), the main color is brown (legs are lighter). They differ from closely related species (for example, Stigmatomma bruni and Stigmatomma quadratum ) by 17 small triangular teeth along the anterior margin of the clypeus . The eyes are small. Antennae short, 11-segmented. Mandibles long, narrow, sting well developed. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of one knotty segment ( petiol ) widely attached to the abdomen. The species was first described in 1879 by the Austrian myrmecologist Gustav Mayr under the original name Amblyopone reclinata [2] [1] [3] . Since 2012 in the genus Stigmatomma [4] [5] .
