Biography
He studied at the military paramedic school, from where he was expelled for participating in the 1905 strike. In 1908-1910 he worked in the editorial office of the journal “ Bulletin of Knowledge ”. Member of the First World War . After the revolution of 1917 , he served in the Red Army . Since 1920 he worked in the newspapers of Kiev and Kharkov . He worked with Ostap Vishnya in the newspaper Izvestia VUTSIK .
Since 1923, belonged to the literary organization of Ukrainian proletarian writers " Garth ".
In 1926 he turned to cinema, speaking first as a screenwriter . In 1927-1929 he headed the art department of the Odessa Film Factory .
In 1934 he moved to Moscow. Basically, he was engaged in literary translation from Ukrainian into Russian, he also wrote the play "Ivan da Marya" (1940) [1] .
Daughter - Galina Kmit .
He was buried in Moscow at the Preobrazhensky cemetery .
