Football player career
In the position of the attacker played for Dumez and Niger Tornados . His playing career ended after he broke his leg [1] .
Career Coach
He coached several clubs in Nigeria , such as BSK Lions , El Kanemi Warriors and Shuting Stars . He also coached the South African club Orlando Pirates . [1]
First, he led the Nigeria team from April 2001 to February 2002. [2] He later stated that his dismissal was “unfair” [3] , and that a month later, he had not yet received an official letter confirming his dismissal [4] .
He was re-appointed manager in April 2008. [5] In December 2009, the Football Federation of Nigeria declared that the puck was under pressure [6] , and in January 2010, its future was considered as a coach of the national team [7] . In February 2010, he was dismissed [8] . In May 2013, Amodu was appointed technical director of the Nigeria national team [9] .
In October 2014, he was re-appointed head coach of the superorls, succeeding Stephen Keshi [10] . This was the fifth invitation to the national team as a leader [11] . After 2 weeks, Keshi returned to his duties as a coach, but in July 2015 he was dismissed, and Amodu temporarily headed Nigerians [12] [13] . At the end of the month, he was replaced by Sanday Olis [14] .
Death
Amodu died on June 10, 2016, 3 days after the death of Stephen Keshi.
