Biography

In 1918 he graduated from accounting courses [2] ; in the same year he entered the Red Army [3] , served until 1924 [4] . In 1919 - joined the RCP (b) [2] [3] .

In 1931 he graduated from the textile faculty of the Promacademy and was appointed director of the Promacademy named after V.M. Molotov (1931-1935). In 1932 he graduated externally with the Moscow Textile Institute [2] [3] .

In 1935-1938, he headed the Main Directorate of Educational Institutions of the People's Commissariat of Light Industry of the USSR , in 1938-1940 he was deputy general commissioner and chairman of the artistic council of the Soviet part of the International Exhibition in New York [2] [3] .

Since 1940, at diplomatic work: headed the Consular Section of the USSR NKID [5] , since 1941 - the Latin America Department of the USSR NKID [2] [3] [6] (according to other sources, the United States of America [4] ). Participated in the preparation for the evacuation of the archives of the People's Commissariat of Foreign Affairs [7] .

Since March 23, 1944 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to Canada (presentation of credentials took place on June 8, 1944); from September 28, 1946 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to Great Britain (presentation of credentials took place on January 23, 1947) [2] [3] [6] . He participated in the establishment of diplomatic relations between the USSR and the Union of Burma [8] .

From June 14, 1952 to January 7, 1958 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to the United States (the presentation of credentials took place on September 25, 1952). January 4, 1958 was appointed deputy minister of foreign affairs of the USSR [2] [3] [6] .

A candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU ( 1952 - 1958 ) [9] [10] .
