Queen Pendants

“ Twelve Diamond Pendants” is one of the plot-forming objects in the novel by Alexander Dumas “ Three Musketeers ”.

They can be seen in a huge number of adaptations of this novel, and in none of them they look the same.

According to one version, they were lanyard tips :

“In the Middle Ages, the edges of clothing were connected with laces and clasps; partly this custom has been preserved in the era we are describing. Pendants are the ends of laces made of gold or silver and covered with enamel. Often they were decorated with small pearls or stones. Depending on whether the laces were tied with a bow or threaded through holes, the pendants were triple, double or single. The most widespread form of the spindle ” [1] .
