Biography
Since 1916 - an employee at the cannery.
1917 - graduated from Borisoglebsky accounting courses, assistant clerk of the village volispolkoma.
1918 - 1919 - serving in the Red Army .
1919 — 1922 - Head of District Press Agencies in the Don Region and the Tambov Province. Member of the suppression of the peasant uprising in the Tambov region ( 1921 ).
1922 — 1924 - cadet of the School named after the All-Russian Central Executive Committee .
From 1924 he worked as an accountant, an economist at refrigerating plants.
1924 — 1930 - student of the evening department of the Faculty of Economics of the Moscow Plekhanov Institute of National Economy.
1928 - 1930 - economist at Cold-export of the People's Commissariat of Internal Trade of the USSR.
1930 - operative of the expert management of Soyuzryb.
1930 — 1936 - an operative-merchandiser, director of the English-Russian cooperative society ARKOS ( London ).
1936— 1938 - Director of the fi sh fruit office of Exportkhleb of the People’s Commissariat of Foreign Trade of the USSR.
1938 — 1943 — Chairman of the Exporles of the USSR Commissariat of Foreign Trade.
1943–1946 - Deputy Director of the United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration (UNRRA) ( USA ).
1946 — 1949 - Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade of the USSR.
March 4, 1949 - November 6, 1951 - Minister of Foreign Trade of the USSR. He was removed from office as “unable to cope with the duties assigned to him”. The reason for the removal was the story of the importation of bananas from Mexico [2] .
1952 — 1953 - Deputy Plenipotentiary of the USSR Council of Ministers on the affairs of the Soviet-Chinese joint-stock companies Soyuzkitneft and Soyuzkitmetall, China.
September 1, 1953 - October 26, 1957 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to India .
From February 25, 1956 to March 29, 1966 - candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU .
From February 5 to October 26, 1957 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR in Nepal .
January 7, 1958 - January 4, 1962 - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the USSR to the USA .
Simultaneously with the change of the White House host, there was a replacement and the host of our embassy in Washington ... Relations between Ambassador Menshikov and the head of Soviet diplomacy A. A. Gromyko did not develop in the best way. Therefore, taking advantage of the coming to power of a new American president, the Kremlin’s foreign minister quickly replaced Menshikov with another, younger ambassador, Anatoly Dobrynin.
