Paul Simon is the second studio album by American folk singer and musician Paul Simon , released January 24, 1972 via Columbia Records . In 1986, it was certified in platinum status [4] .

The disc reached the first place in the UK chart and position No. 4 in the American Billboard 200 charts , received positive reviews from music critics and online publications, for example, Allmusic [1] , Robert Christgau [2] , Rolling Stone [3] . Critics of the Stereo Review called the disc Best Album of the Year ("Record Of The Year" awards) [5] . The album is included in the list of 500 greatest albums of all time according to Rolling Stone magazine (No. 268).
