Me & The Rhythm is a song recorded by American singer Selena Gomez for her second solo studio album, Revival (2015). It was released on October 2, 2015 on iTunes and other digital media as the only promo single for the album. Written by Selena, Julia Michaels , Justin Trenter and their producers - Matthias and Robin (Mattman & Robin). “Me & The Rhythm” was recorded most recently after Selena's request for work for another four days to write, and subsequently became one of her favorites on the album.

Me & The Rhythm was inspired by disco , dance and synth pop music , as well as steel drums , deep beats, pulsating drums and smoky keyboards in the instrumental version. The song says about the loss of oneself on the dance floor and about the possibility of being free for moments and within oneself. The composition was positively received by critics, they praised the vintage sounds of disco and the sultry vocals of Gomez. Selena performed the song as a medley with Come & Get It during a performance at The Today Show.

Record and Release
After the Good for You unexpected success on the charts, Gomez asked her label to postpone the final mix of the album for working with Julia Michaels and Justin Trenter to write more songs from the moment she “became obsessed with Justin and Julia” and “felt like we were creating magic. Julia felt like me, and I felt like Julia ” [1] . Michelle also commented: “I think that Selena is not at all like me and Justin in the sense that ... when you find what you are attached to, it’s real and honest, you won’t let it go. You will see where it can direct you. ” [2] Her label agreed, and they worked four more days on three other songs, two of which were on the album: Hands To Myself and "Me & The Rhythm", the second of which was the last one recorded for Revival and also as one of their favorites her on the album [3] . An excerpt of the composition along with the cover became available on September 26, 2015 [4] . The song was later released as the first and only promo single for the album on October 2. During a performance at The Today Show, she performed it along with her previous hit Come & Get It [5] .
