Scoop-lichen [1] (lat. Moma alpium ) is a daytime butterfly from the family of scoops that lives in the Palearctic .

The length of the front wing is 16-18 mm. Wingspan 34–42 mm [2] . The front wings are grayish-green with black broken lines resembling a scale lichen. Fore wings with three white longitudinal stripes, three black transverse lines and black dots. The hind wings are gray-brown in color, in the rear corner have two white eyes.
Active in the dark. It inhabits mixed and deciduous forests, forest edges, parks, and marshy, treeless spaces. Flight from May to September depending on location.
Caterpillars are dark gray, almost black in color, with three broad red-yellow spots on the back and with numerous red warts covered with yellow stripes. Caterpillars feed on leaves of oak, European beech, aspen, mountain ash, black poplar, birch and other deciduous trees, found from June to September. The pupa is dark brown, in a light cocoon.
