Built and opened in 1929. On May 31, 1942, a blockade match was held at the stadium.

On May 31, 1991, a memorial plaque was opened at the entrance pavilion of the sports complex, which is dedicated to the match. The architect was Anatoly Petrovich Chernov, sculptor Veniamin Georgievich Sidorenko. It is made of granite and bronze. On May 31, 2002, a gray granite board was opened with a list of players participating in the blockade match, located below the main board.

In 2012, a monument was unveiled depicting a blockade match.

In 2007, part of the territory of Dynamo was given to Valentina Matvienko for development with elite housing and a business center. The preliminary project area, which is expected to be fully implemented by 2013 , was estimated at 77 thousand m² [1] . In 2009, after the acquisition of land by the Evraz Capital holding was completed, this figure was increased to 96 thousand m² [2] .

In 2007-2008, the stadium was reconstructed, and a sports base was organized. The building for training has been completed, running tracks, athletics and football fields have been updated.

By order of KGIOP No. 10-4 of January 10, 2012, the building complex of the Dynamo stadium (the shooting gallery and the Grelka restaurant) was declared an architectural monument, an object of cultural heritage of regional significance. [3]

In 2017, it was planned to reconstruct the main football arena to match it for matches of the FNL and PFL level, but in 2018 the project was canceled due to the liquidation and relocation of the Dynamo football club in Sochi. [four]

In 2017, the construction of a tennis center and a boiler house was completed, built by the Dynamo company with the money received from the sale of a part of the stadium.

On the territory of the stadium is the local branch of the VFSO Dynamo. The organization has opened sections for classes in football, boxing, archery, bullet shooting, sambo, rowing and tennis.

At football stadiums competitions are held under the auspices of the Football Federation of St. Petersburg.

The capacity of the main arena is 500 spectators.

At the moment, the treadmills of the main and reserve fields are used for training athletes, the buildings around the stadium - as locker rooms and facilities for weightlifting and martial arts.

Throughout history, football fields have been home and training arenas for the Dynamo St. Petersburg football club and its youth sports school.

Facts

May 22, 1936 at the Dynamo stadium in the presence of 12,000 spectators the first match of the USSR football championships took place. There were teams Dynamo Leningrad and Lokomotiv Moscow .
