Description

Small ants (body length about 2 mm), the main color is yellowish brown. The eyes are small. Antennae short, 10-segmented. Mandibles are long, narrow, the sting is well developed. Clypeus with a row of 5-8 small denticles along the front edge. The stalk between the breast and the abdomen consists of one nodular segment ( petiol ) widely attached to the abdomen. The species was first described in 1987 by Japanese worldmecologists Mamoru Terayama , Laboratory of Applied Entomology, Division of Agriculture and Agricultural Life Sciences, University of Tokyo , Tokyo , Japan ) under the original name Amblyopone fulvidum Terayama, 1987 . In 2015, it was included in the genus Bannapone [1] [2] [3] [4] . Since 2016, as part of the genus Stigmatomma [5] .
