Biography
He graduated from the First Cadet Corps , then in 1912 the Pavlovsk Military School and entered the second lieutenant in the Life Guards Pavlovsky Regiment . In July 1914, he went to war with a regiment. On August 27, he was wounded at the most German trenches, drew lines of the enemyβs location, which made it possible to defeat the enemy the next day and take a lot of prisoners, machine guns and artillery. For this perfect feat he received the Order of St. Vladimir of the 4th degree. On recovery from injury, he was found unfit for military service, but due to his perseverance he was sent to the front. In 1915 he was captured by the Germans, three times unsuccessfully tried to escape from captivity. He returned to his homeland under an agreement on the exchange of prisoners of war. By order of the 11th army of September 25, 1917 he was awarded the Order of St. George , 4th degree [1] .
During the Civil War, Skordumov fought in the ranks of the Volunteer Army , a member of the Bredovskoy campaign , then in the Wrangel Army in the Crimea. After the evacuation of the army of Wrangel from Crimea, he lived in Yugoslavia, and after the German occupation of Yugoslavia, he suggested that the German command form a Russian corps to protect the Russian population from partisans who had slaughtered entire families of Russian white emigrants. He began the formation of the corps, without even receiving the official consent of the German occupation administration.
September 12, 1941 issued the first order on the Corps, in which it was written in particular: "With God's help, with general unanimity and having fulfilled our duty to the country that has hosted us, I will bring you to Russia." Already on September 14, 1941, for such self-contained statements, Skorodumov was removed from the post of corps commander and arrested [2] by the Gestapo . Command of the corps was transferred to General Steifon . After some time, Skorodumov was released from prison and worked as a shoemaker for three years.
In 1944, he entered the corps as an ordinary and reached Austria with him.
After the war, Skorodumov left for the United States. In 1963, he died and was buried in Los Angeles in a Hollywood cemetery .
