Albertville-2 ( FR. Albertville-2 ) is one of the 19 cantons of the Savoy department of the Auvergne-Rhone-Alpes region of France . The canton's INSEE code is 7304. It is fully located in Albertville County [2] . Canton was established in 2015.

History
According to the law of May 17, 2013 and the decree of February 14, 2014, the number of cantons in the Savoy department decreased from 37 to 19. The new territorial division of the departments into cantons entered into force during the 2015 elections. Thus, the canton of Albertville-2 was formed on March 22, 2015 from a part of the city of Albertville, three communes of the abolished canton of Albertville-Sud and 11 communes of the abolished canton of Grezi-sur-Isère [3] [4] .
Population
According to the 2012 census (it is considered the population of the communes that were included in the canton in 2015), the population of Albertville-2 was 23,232 people, of which 14,311 people live outside Albertville. Of these, 25.8% were under the age of 20, 15.4% were over 65. 16.8% have higher education . Unemployment - 6.6%. The active population (over 15 years old) is 6910 [5] .

Distribution of the population by occupation in the city of Albertville: 0.1% - agricultural workers, 6.6% - artisans, traders, business leaders, 10.0% - intellectual workers, 23.6% - social workers , 30.6 % - civil servants and 29.1% - workers [5] .

Policy
According to the law of May 17, 2013 [3], voters of each canton elect two members of the general council of a department of different sexes during the election. They are elected for 6 years by a majority of votes based on the results of one or two rounds of elections [6] .
In the first round of the cantonal elections on March 22, 2015, six pairs of candidates ran for Albertville-2 (turnout was 50.05%). In the second round on March 29, Dominic Ruiz and Andre Veretto were elected with the support of 65.49% for 2015-2021. The turnout for the elections was 50.28% [7] .
