Genesis and history

Prince Athanasius Yuryevich Sheleshpansky had three sons according to the genealogy: Daniil, Kalita (Dolgorukov calls him Nikita) and Ivan, who had a goof and wrote in the Yard Notebook (1550): According to the review and the tithes of Tretyak Dubrovin, are slaves and die . "Kalita is in the family trees shown without posterity, but it can be stated with certainty that Kalita had children and became the ancestor of the Kalitins clan. The clerk of Ivan the Terrible (1573) was Fedor Kalitin [1] .

About his children Kalita, we can assume that their names were Ivan and Peter. Probably, a record in the synod was placed about Kalita’s grandson: “ Prince Peter Ioanovich Kalitin would have been in the princely service near Kaluga in cheese week. But we won’t remember how he remembers and the year ” [2] . Peter Ivanovich could perish near Kaluga (1606), since several bloody battles took place there this year. The only thing known about the activity of Prince Peter is that in (1602-1604) he served in Yaroslavl with a salary of 500 quarters, and in the campaign against the impostor (1604) he was appointed to the regiment of Mikhail Glebovich Saltykov [3] . Apparently, Prince Semyon Ivanovich Kalitin was Peter’s brother. The first time we meet Semyon (1592) as the patriarchal son of the boyar , who served in Kostroma [4] . In the Sotsk camp of the Kostroma district , his estate was located, and there he carried out the instructions of the patriarch, endowing estates with patriarchal nobles [5] . Semyon Ivanovich died around (1619), because this year his widow Aksinya, with her sons Andrei and Ivan Semenovich, received from the patriarch Filaret a granted, imported and unapproved letter to her husband’s Kostroma estate. The synodic reports the cause of the death of Prince Semyon: " Prince Obyen would be Prince Semyon Ioanovich Kalitin Sheleshpalskaya at the sovereign's service, as the sovereign governors from Ugra went " [6] . The sons of Semyon Ivanovich probably also served the patriarch, since they received his father’s estate from him, especially since the grandson of Prince Semyon Ivan Andreevich was the patriarch’s captain. Only (1674/1675) did he participate in more than twenty ceremonies [7] . The son of Ivan Andreevich, Prince Gregory also served as a patriarch and owned an estate in the Sotsky camp of the Kostroma district [8] . The cousin of princes Peter and Semyon Ivanovich was Matthew Petrovich. There is no information about him, except for the entry in the Synodic: "In the summer of 7124 (1616), prince Matthew Petrovich Sheleshpolskaya Kalitin would have been killed in the sovereign service near Moscow. But we won’t even remember how Godin is remembered " [9] [10] . For four generations, the Kalitins branch served the patriarch of All Russia and occupied a rather high position at his court, but serving the patriarch opened up fewer opportunities and was therefore less prestigious.

Matvey Koshka-Kalitin was a day -care center in 1495 . Nobles since 1693 . The first to enter this status was Savva Ivanov, son of Kalitin . Surname Kalitin from the Turkic Kalita-kalta "bag, wallet" [11]

Nikita Ivanovich Kalitin Novgorod nobleman - entered the Swedish service at the beginning of the 17th century and was elevated by the king Gustav Adolf to the Swedish noble dignity in 1620 [12] . His offspring still existed in the middle of the 19th century in Finland .
