Sanguine

Sanguine ( French Sanguinet ) - a commune in the south-west of France in the department of Landa , region of New Aquitaine . Included in the canton of Grand Lac , Mont de Marsan County. Sanguine is located in the historic area of Pays de Born . In 2014, the population of the commune was 3655 people. The mayor of the city is Fabien Lene.

The twin city is Neyland, Pembrokeshire , Wales [1] .

Geography

The municipality is located in the historic province of Pei de Borne in the north of the department of Landa . The Gurg River flows through Sanguine, which formed a lake in the territory of Etan de Cajo de Sanguine . Previously, the river overlooked the Atlantic Ocean , but over time the estuary disappeared due to the growth of sand dunes, which led to the formation of the largest of the Landski ponds.

Population

According to the 2013 census, the population of Sanguine was 3605 people (49.3% of men and 50.7% of women), the commune had 1,543 households and 1,091 families. The population of the commune by age range was as follows: 20.2% - residents under 14 years old, 12.2% - between 15 and 29 years old, 22.3% - from 30 to 44 years old, 19.4% - from 45 to 59 years and 26.0% - at the age of 60 years and older [2] .

Among 1543 households, 70.7% were families: 28.5% were couples with children, 36.0% were childless, and 6.1% were single-parent families. Among residents older than 15 years, 55.7% were married, 44.3% were not married [2] .

Among the population over 15 years old (2700 people), 25.8% of the population had no education or had only primary education or graduated from college only, 31.2% received a certificate of completion of the lyceum or completed full secondary education or secondary specialized education, 19.4 % - completed shortened higher education and 23.6% - received full higher education [2] .

In 2012, out of 2227 people of working age (from 15 to 64 years old), 1647 were economically active, 580 inactive (activity indicator 73.9%, in 2008 - 72.3%). Out of 1647 active able-bodied residents, 1489 people worked (792 men and 697 women), 158 were unemployed (unemployment - 7.1%). Among 580 able-bodied inactive citizens, 134 were pupils or students, 275 were pensioners, and another 171 were inactive for other reasons. Distribution of the population by occupation in the commune: 6.7% - artisans, traders, business leaders, 10.1% - intellectual workers, 14.7% - social workers , 12.0% - government employees, 14.1% - workers and 39.7% - pensioners [2] . In 2013, the average income per inhabitant per month was 1942 €, per year - 23 305 € [3] .
