One moonlit night, brother and sister Jimmy and Ellie ( Jesse Eisenberg and Christina Ricci ), who were driving a car along a forest road, suddenly had an accident caused by a wolf-like animal. As a result of this incident, the brother and sister remain almost unharmed, but since then, dramatic changes have been taking place in their lives.

They suddenly begin to notice that they began to possess tremendous physical strength, that their feelings and sensations have acquired extraordinary acuteness, and those around them have begun to pay special attention to them. As a result, Jimmy and Ellie guess that the changes taking place with them are somehow connected with that accident.

Filming took place in Los Angeles from March 17, 2003 to the beginning of 2004 with an 11-week break. Craven said that he would do the same thing for the subgenre of horror films about werewolves as he did the movie “ Scream ” for slashers . The production process was difficult, and the script was redone several times. As a result, the producers did not like the film they shot, which is why they had to shoot about half of the film, because of which some heroes dropped out of the plot and the actors changed. The shoot also required the allocation of additional financial resources and a shift in the release date of the painting by almost a year.
