Biography
Born on January 10, 1913 in a peasant family in the village of Glinskoe, Poltava province. Received primary education in the school of his native village. He began his career in 1927. He worked in one of the branches of the sugar beet farm in the village of Artyomovka. From 1935 he served in the Red Army in the 24th Infantry Division of the Kiev Military District. After the army service, he continued to work in the Artyomovsky sugar beet farm.
Participated in the Great Patriotic War as part of the 36th Automobile Regiment. Since 1942, he served as a foreman for the repair of units of the automobile plant number 42 of the Bryansk Front.
After demobilization in 1945, he continued to work in the Artyomovsky sugar farm. He was appointed brigadier field brigade. In 1947, a team led by Alexei Kosenko collected an average of 35.67 centners of rye from each hectare from an area of 18 hectares. In 1948, he was awarded the title of Hero of Socialist Labor "for obtaining a high rye crop when the state farm fulfills the plan for the delivery of agricultural products in 1947 and the supply of grain crops for spring sowing in 1948" .
In 1951 he was appointed brigadier of a pig farm and, from 1955, a worker at the sawmill of the Artyomovsky sugar beet farm.
After retirement in 1974, he lived in the village of Artyomovka, Chutovsky District, where he died in 2006.
