Mefta, Mahyeddin

Club

Trained at the Tizi-Usu ARB as a cadet. He joined Kabilia athletic youth in 1987. At the Kabil club, he won three Algerian champion titles, two Algerian Cups, an African Champions Cup and an African Cup Winners Cup.

He signed a contract with USM Algeria in June 1996, where he continued his career there and ended his career with dignity, making him the most titled footballer from Algeria.

Mahyeddin Mefta received his first call to the Algerian national team on December 31, 1989 against Senegal in Dakar , the game ended 0-0. He became one of the main elements of selection during the 1990 African Cup of Nations , where Algeria became the winner. With the national team of Algeria, he participated in all CAS from 1990 to 2002 (with the exception of 1994, when Algeria was disqualified). He is part of the players who played most of the games for the Algerian national team with 77 games, taking 3rd place and a record number of Algerian footballers on the CAN with Rabah Majer by this indicator.
