Tua Birgitta Forsström ( Swede Tua Birgitta Forsström ; born April 2, 1949 , Porvoo , Finland ) is a Finnish Swedish-language writer, winner of the Nordic Literature Prize (1998) and Finland's highest award for artists - the “ Pro Finlandia ” medal (1991).

Biography
In 1972 she graduated from the University of Helsinki and in the same year published her first work - “En dikt om kärlek och annat”.
Known as a poetess; He is also the author of several plays. In his work he actively uses direct quotes from the works of Ludwig Wittgenstein , Hermann Hesse and Friedrich Nietzsche .
In 1998, she was awarded the Northern Council Literary Prize for her poetic collection Efter att ha tillbringat en natt bland hästar, in which she used quotes from the film Stalker directed by Andrei Tarkovsky . She is also a laureate of the Samfundet De Nio Stora pris, Bellmanpriset and Edtih Södergran Prizes.
In February 2019, Tua Forsstrom was appointed as a new member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences . This appointment was the first time in history when a citizen of Finland became a member of the Swedish Academy. In the 18th chair, she replaced the Swedish poetess Katarina Frostenson [2] .
