History
The single was officially released in February 2016. The track was announced on the official Instagram of Olga Orlova, as well as on Instagram dedicated to Jeanne Friske [2] . Two days before the release, Olga wrote about the song on her Instagram: “I am sure that she will find a response in the hearts of millions of people, since this topic is close to everyone ... I dedicated it to Jeanne. It is my duty. ” [3]
The music and the text of the refrain to the song were written by Maxim Fadeev [4] , and the author of the two verses was Olga Orlova herself [4] . According to Maxim Fadeev, he was going to write a song specifically for Zhanna Friske during her lifetime, but did not do it for certain reasons [3] .

Video clip
February 29, 2016 on the official channel of Olga Orlova on YouTube the premiere of the video for the song “Farewell, my friend” [5] , directed by the singer herself [6] [7], took place . According to the plot of the video clip, Olga, dressed in a black mourning dress, is in the church and prays. Throughout the clip, photos of Jeanne Friske, as well as fragments from her video clips appear in it [8] . In a few days, the clip gained half a million views on the Web [9] .
Critical Reaction
Alexey Mazhaev from InterMedia gave the single 3 points out of 5 possible. According to the reviewer, Maxim Fadeev "everything turned out far from so touching from a melodic point of view." Mazhaev positively evaluated the lyrics, which "does not contain anything superfluous." The reviewer also noted the performance of the song by Olga Orlova . “Olga’s serve is strict and sad, while not allowing any tear,” says Alexey [1] .
