Biography

Vasily Naryshkin was born on March 30, 1712, came from a noble family of the Naryshkins ; the son of a roommaker Vasily Grigoryevich Naryshkin from his marriage with Streshneva [1] [2] .

Having received a home education, he, according to the customs of that time, enlisted in military service from a young age, where he remained in service with the rank of colonel, inclusive. Produced on December 25, 1755 from colonels to foremen, VV Naryshkin was appointed to attend the Military Office [1] . Soon after, he took the post of Belgorod governor, on March 3, 1763 he was promoted to lieutenant general , and then was transferred to the same post in Novgorod [1] .

Since 1762, he owned a mansion on Vladimirsky Prospect , 12 [3] . He died on January 20, 1779 in Moscow and was buried in the Donskoy Monastery [1] .

He was married twice: 1) on Princess Praskovya Vasilievna Solntseva-Zasekina (1704-to 1742), 2) on Anna Ivanovna Panina (1723-10 September 1780) [1] [4] . The son from his first marriage, Semyon, rose to the position of vice president in the Berg College; better known as a writer. [5] . The son from his second marriage, Alex became a diplomat, also engaged in literary activities. Another son, Vasily (full namesake), having risen to the state councilor, became commander of the Nerchinsk factories; in this position, he left a sad memory about himself with wastefulness and extortion, for which he was removed from office and put on trial; in 1777 his estates were confiscated and sold to pay official debts [6] [7] .
