The 1993 European Women's Football Championship , or Euro 1993 , is the 5th Women's European Football Championship, a football tournament for European countries, held from 1991 to 1993 (from the qualifying round) under the auspices of UEFA. The final game was held in Italy. The champion title was won for the 2nd time by the Norwegian team, which beat the Italian team 1-0 in the final [1] [2] .

Format
In the qualifying round, 23 teams were divided into 8 groups (7 groups of 3 teams, in one - 2 teams), the winner of each group qualified for the quarter-finals of the competition. The teams (4 pairs) played right through (playoffs) 2 games each (on the fields of both teams, that is, each team played its own field (in its own country) and a foreign field (in the opponent's country)). In the final there was only one game, its winner was declared the champion. The losers in the semifinals played the match for third place.
