Vasily Petrovich Efremov ( January 13, 1906 , Sevastopol - October 13, 1965 [1] ) - Chairman of the City Executive Committee of Sevastopol in 1938 - 1946 , one of the leaders of the defense of Sevastopol 1941-1942 .

Biography
Born on January 13, 1906 in Sevastopol . He began his working life at the age of 11. At first he was a turner student, then a turner at the Marine Plant. In 1936, the working people of Sevastopol elected him deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR , and in 1938 - chairman of the executive committee of the Sevastopol city Council of Workers' Deputies [2] .
When the Great Patriotic War began , he was deputy chairman of the City Defense Committee and head of the local air defense (MPVO). He did a great job of providing the fleet and army with everything necessary, to mobilize the working people of the city to fight the enemy. He remained in the city until the last days of defense and was evacuated on a submarine on June 30, 1942 .
In 1944 , on the second day after the liberation of the city, he returned to Sevastopol and began work in the City Council [3] . I did a lot to restore the city.
He died on October 13, 1965 .
Memory
May 5, 1970 the former Cadets Street in the Gagarinsky district of Sevastopol was renamed Efremova Street.
In November 2006, the 65th anniversary of the beginning of the defense of the city and the 31st anniversary of the formation of the Gagarinsky district was timed to coincide with the opening of the memorial designation of Efremov Street in the park near house 8. The son of Vasily Petrovich and his grandchildren attended the ceremony [4] .
