Biography

He was born on August 11 (23), 1899 in the village of Leski , Cherkasy Uyezd , Kiev Province , the Russian Empire (now Cherkasy District , Cherkasy Region ) into a peasant family. After graduating from the two-year Zemstvo school, he worked for the kulaks for hire, then he was a horse-drawn driver at the mines of the French joint-stock company in Krivoy Rog . During the Civil War, he participated in battles against Denikinites .

Since 1923 - chairman of the committee for the poor in Leski, chairman of the district committee for the poor of the Shevchenko district , later - head of the land plot of the Chernobaevsky and Kamensky district executive committees. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1926. Since 1936 - Director of the Kamensk MTS. In 1936 he was elected to the USSR Supreme Soviet of the first convocation.

In 1938 he was elected the first secretary of the Kamensky district party committee. With the formation of the Kirovograd region, Pyotr Kirillovich was elected a member of the bureau of the Kirovograd regional party committee and was appointed head of the village department. He was a delegate to the historic 18th Congress of the CPSU (B.) . In 1939 - a participant of VDNH.

Since July 1941 - the head of the partisan underground , secretary of the Kirovograd underground party regional committee. In August 1941, he organized partisan groups in the Chigirinsky , Zlatopolsky and Kamensky districts. A partisan detachment was created in the forests of the Cold Yar and became its commissar.

He was tortured by the Gestapo in a Cherkasy prison in December 1941.

Memory

  • In 1972, one of the streets of Cherkasy was named in honor of Vasilina;
