Cassianidis, Simon

Born on August 7, 1979 in Athens ( Greece ) in a family of Greek entrepreneurs Mario and Eleni Kassianidis. He has an older brother Fotis, working in the field of finance .

Grew up in the London area of Clapham ( borough Lambeth ). Educated at Dalidge College . At the University of Edinburgh, he was the producer and executive producer of the sold-out musical “ Briolin ” at the George Square Theater, the proceeds of which were transferred to the Macmillan Cancer Trust charity .

In 2002 , shortly after receiving a diploma with honors in international economic relations and finance , and helping her mother to open Urban Coffee ^[2] in London, a fair trade and organic coffee shop in the Tooting area near Tooting Station Broadway ”( borough Wandsworth ) of the London Underground , Simon was seen as a prize winner at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts , producer Pierce Wellacott ^[3] .

Cassianidis began to study at the Central School of Stage Speech and Dramatic Art at the University of London - an educational institution that is rightfully considered one of the most prestigious acting universities in the UK, but was forced to leave it after he was offered a role in Tennessee Williams 's play “ Iguana Night ”. His role as Pedro was highly praised by critics ^[4] .

Shortly thereafter, he was noted as an actor for filming in the BBC television documentary Making it at Holby ^[5] .

Since then, Cassianidis has appeared on a number of television series in the US and the UK , including Catastrophe, My Life in the Movies , Planespotting, Special Forces Elite, Ghosts , Return, Holby Police, “Suburb on Fire”, “The Kylie Show”, “ Ashes to Ashes ”, “Passion”, “Punisher”, “Love Soup”, “ Virtuosos ”, “Law and Order: London”, “ Nikita ” and “ Black Mark” " ^[1] .

He also starred in several world-famous films, such as Forbidden Love , Wuthering Heights , Between Two Lights, Quantum of Solace ^[1] and Kisses.

In 2010, Cassianidis played the main role in the film "Geezas", also acting as its producer and director, completing the filming of the picture in record time and on budget ^[6] .

The pace of work of Cassianidis and dedication to their work were noticed by the managers of the Michalis Kakoyanis Foundation ^[7] .

In 2003, Michalis Kakoyanis , director of the film “ Greek Zorba ” ( 1964 ) ^[8] , founded the Fund “Michalis Kakoyanis”, the main activity of which is to promote the development of national Greek theater and cinema .

In 2012, Kassianidis was appointed a management consultant and representative of the Michalis Kakoyanis Foundation.
