Transport

National Highway 32 runs through Fuktho County, linking the center of Hanoi with Shontai and the province of Footho . There are several marinas within the county on the Hongha navigable river.

Economics

Agriculture is important in the county’s economy; peasants supply rice, vegetables, fruits, flowers, pork, poultry, and freshwater fish to the Hanoi markets [2] [3] .

Culture

In the commune of Thitzyang there is a fishing festival of the village of Me, dedicated to one of the four immortal deities of the Vietnamese pantheon - Tan Vien Shon Thanyu ( Vietnamese. Tản Viên Sơn Thánh ) ; the festival is accompanied by fishing competitions, deity worship, fish treats, a puppet show on water , a Tao Zia game and children's singing [4] .

In the village of Hatmon of the same commune, a temple festival is held, dedicated to the Chung sisters and accompanied by various ceremonies (including a procession with flags, a dragon dance and a descent of rice from the river). According to legend, the Hatmon Temple is located on the spot where the Chung sisters threw themselves into the Day River and drowned so as not to be captured by the Chinese [4] [5] [6] .

In the central stadium of the county, buffalo fights are held, the meat of which is donated to the temples after the holiday and sold to everyone (the prices of winning buffalo meat are huge, since there is a belief among Vietnamese that it brings good luck and prosperity in the new year). However, the Hanoi authorities oppose these popular notions, considering them a cruel sight [7] [8] [9] .
