A-One Hip-Hop Music Channel (A-One TV channel) is a former Russian music channel broadcasting from August 1, 2005 to May 31, 2016. In the past 5 years, broadcasting has been positioned as a channel about the most striking and relevant areas of youth culture. The musical content of A-ONE was presented in all style diversity: hip-hop, r'n'b, rap, electronic music, funk, reggae, soul, indie and some areas bordering on them.

A-ONE was broadcast via ABS-2 (FTA) satellite, from the Tricolor TV platform, in the networks of cable TV and IP-TV operators, in the networks of mobile communication operators, in OTT platforms and Smart TV, as well as in the social network TV [TVEVT]. The channel was presented in packages of 850 cable operators in Russia.
Channel History
The channel was founded in the spring of 2005 and was called “Alternative One” (from August 1, 2005 - A-One). Initially, the channel was completely devoted to alternative and rock music (which was originally reflected in its name), but since the fall of 2011, hip-hop and popular music have been broadcast on its air [1] . The air concept presented to the audience in 2005-2006, which included the logo, music content, genre orientation (alternative music) and visual design, was jointly developed by Ilya Uglava, Dmitry Kravtsov and Sergey Ivanchuk. The first chief director of the channel is Grigory Skomorovsky.
The start of the broadcast of A-One is considered August 1, 2005. Since that year, the channel has been working around the clock.
In 2005-2010, the channel was the founder of the annual RAMP (Russian Alternative Music Prize) award. The nominees were both Russian and foreign rock performers, the winners were determined by the results of the audience voting. Over the years, Korn (2005), Stone Sour (2006), UNKLE and Marilyn Manson (2007), Klaxons (2008), Franz Ferdinand (2009) performed at the award ceremonies.
The design of the channel was nominated for the prestigious TEFI television award in the nomination “Design of a television program / project”.
From 2007 to July 2011, A-One presented music that was outside the format of other music television channels. The air was filled with both classic rock and hip-hop or IDM .
September 15, 2011 Alexander Tolmatsky was appointed the general producer of the channel. He changed the channel format: “In accordance with modern, current trends in culture in general and music in particular, the alternative vector is shifting toward the hip-hop industry. Movement in this direction is becoming our common and priority task ” [2] . At the same time, the channel was renamed “A-ONE Hip-Hop Music Channel”, where the abbreviation A-ONE ceased to be an abbreviation, turning simply into a logo. In November 2013, he left the channel.
A-One Channel hosted concerts of world-class stars in Moscow and St. Petersburg, including Linkin Park , Apocalyptica , Tricky , The Roots , Manu Chao , Faith No More and others.
The channel directly collaborated with such distribution companies of musical content as Universal, Sony Music, Warner / Nikitin, Gala / EMI, Soyuz and many others, which made it possible to receive video news in the shortest possible time.
In October 2012, A-ONE won the Golden Ray National Award as the best Russian music channel. In 2013, A-ONE HIP-HOP MUSIC CHANNEL reached the final of the competition for the international award The Eutelsat TV Awards. In 2010 and 2014, A-ONE was the winner in the nomination “Music Channel” at the prestigious Big Digit award.
Since 2014, the channel launched a series of night parties throughout the country A-ONE HYPE NIGHTS, which will feature the most relevant Western and Russian artists. The first party was held with the participation of Tyga (November 22, 2014, Space Moscow).
At the beginning of April 2016, Gazprom-Media Holding bought out a 49% stake in A-One from Alexander Karmanov , Solaris Promo Production, which initially owned the entire block of shares. After that, Gazprom-Media Holding immediately announced the launch of a new music channel called TNT-Music on the basis of A-One [3] . The launch of the channel under this brand took place on May 31, 2016 at 16:00 Moscow time.

Interesting Facts
- On June 6, 2009 at 11:50 Moscow time, the channel signal became unavailable in many parts of Russia in connection with a fire that occurred at 261 telephone exchanges in Moscow. [4] That day there was a still frame on the channel from the video “ Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give it away”. As a result, from June 6 (from 18:00 Moscow time) to June 9 on A-One there were no programs and no ads, there were only non-stop clips (as it became known, it was the Ukrainian television channel A-One UA , at the request of Russian colleagues, Ukrainian advertising was temporarily removed from the air). The channel logo was shifted slightly to the left, on the dies for the clips there was no address of the channel website. 9 июня в 14:15 по московскому времени полноценное вещание телеканала «A-One» было восстановлено.
- 1 апреля 2011 года в музыкальных блоках в плашках некоторые иностранные названия песен и артистов переведены на русский язык, а во время музыкальных блоков внизу от логотипа была надпись «Эй-Уан». Кроме того, в этот же день был показан спецвыпуск A-One News, которые провели сотрудники канала [5] . Такое было в рамках хит-парада «100 самых идиотских клипов», которые вышли в эфир 1 апреля 2009 года.
