Biography
By the beginning of the revolution he was captain of the cavalry. Elected by the nobility of the Riviera Verdun district to the General States ( 1789 ), he strongly advocated the separation of the three estates. In the Constituent Assembly, Casales was considered one of the most eloquent and energetic supporters of the estate system, although he admitted the need for some changes in government. He fought a duel with Barnav , one of the leaders of the Jacobins in 1789–91.
After King King escaped, he left the National Assembly and went to Koblenz . Returning to Paris , he emigrated again after August 10, 1792 and took part in an expedition against Toulon in 1793 . During the consulate he returned to France .
