Biography
Ethnic German. Graduate of the Faculty of Medicine of Charles University . In 1990-1992 - Deputy Dean of the University for Development and Chairman of the Academic Senate .
L. Heger became an associate professor in radiology and received a PhD degree, later a doctor of medicine. In 1991-1993 He worked as the head of the Radio Diagnostic Clinic in Hradec Králové.
In 1996-2009 - Director of the Faculty Clinic in Hradec Králové.
In 2010, he put forward his candidacy for parliament.
Since 2002 - an active politician, representative of the ODS ( Civic Democratic Party ). In 2008, he unsuccessfully ran for the Senate as an independent non-party candidate in the city of Gradec Králové. In the 2010 elections, Heger was elected a member of the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic from the party TOP 09 of the Kralovegradskie Region.
In 2010–2013 - Minister of Health of the Czech Republic in the government of P. Nečas .
As Minister for Health, Heger has developed several reforms and laws that respond to current situations and rising health care costs. One of its main priorities was the fight against corruption.
