While driving the presidential motorcade through Dallas, Hill, along with nine other agents, was in the president's escort car, which followed immediately after the presidential limousine. Hill stood on the bandwagon next to the driver. [1] After the first shot wounding the president in the neck, Hill jumped off the bandwagon, ran up to the presidential limousine, climbed through the trunk into the passenger compartment and covered Jacqueline Kennedy with his body [2] . He was in this position until the hospital, where they brought the mortally wounded Kennedy [2] .
Hill continued to work as a guard for Jacqueline Kennedy for another year after the death of her husband [2] . In 1975, he left the service [2] .
In April 2012, Mrs. Kennedy and Me was published, in which Hill described his career and his working relationship with Jacqueline Kennedy [2] [3] .
Clint Hill is by far the last living passenger on the Kennedy Limo arriving at Hospital.
