Elections to the Altai Regional Legislative Assembly (2016)

Elections to the Altai Territory Legislative Assembly of the VII convocation were held in the Altai Territory on a single voting day on September 18, 2016, simultaneously with the elections to the State Duma of the Russian Federation . The elections were held according to a mixed electoral system: out of 68 deputies, 34 were elected by party lists (proportional system), the other 34 - by single-mandate constituencies (majority system). To get to the regional assembly according to the proportional system, the parties had to overcome the 5% barrier. The term of office of the seventh convocation AKZS is five years.

Members

In a single regional okrug (34 seats), parties put forward lists of candidates. The regional election commission has identified 5 political parties that can list candidates without collecting voter signatures:

  • United Russia . On May 22, 2016, the party held primary elections to determine candidates for the Legislative Assembly of the VII convocation. [1] On July 21, a regional conference of United Russia was held in Barnaul. [2]
  • Communist Party . On July 2, 2016, the II stage of the 46th (extraordinary) conference of the Altai regional branch of the Communist Party took place. By secret ballot, the delegates of the conference decided on the candidates for the AKZS in the upcoming elections. The general regional list of the party was headed by the first secretary of the Altai regional committee of the Communist Party Maria Prusakova, the second on the list was the first secretary of the Barnaul City Committee of the Communist Party, the head of the Communist fraction in Gordum Andrei Sartakov, the third was the communist of the Pavlovsky district, businessman Vladimir Popov.   • LDPR . On July 1, 2016, an extraordinary conference of the Altai regional branch of the LDPR on the nomination of candidates for the regional parliament took place. The regional part was led by party leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The second on the list is Vladimir Semenov, a deputy of the State Duma from the Altai Territory.   • Fair Russia On July 8, 2016, the second part of the conference of the regional branch of the JUST RUSSIA party in the Altai Territory was held. At it, the reference Russia put forward a list of their candidates for elections to the Altai Territory Legislative Assembly. [five]
  • The apple . On July 17, a conference of the Kraevog branch of the Yabloko party was held, at which the list of candidates for deputies to the AKZS was approved. On July 18, 2016, at a press conference, Altai Democrats (Yabloko, PARNAS, Progress) put forward a single list of candidates for deputies of the regional parliament. In total, the list has 78 candidates. In addition to human rights activist Alexander Goncharenko, he is headed by former State Duma deputy Vladimir Ryzhkov . The remaining nominees of the demo-coalition were distributed among 31 territorial groups of the list. In addition to the regional list at the conference, candidates for deputies of the Altai Legislative Assembly were nominated in 31 out of 34 possible single-member constituencies. [2]
  • Republican Party of Russia - People's Freedom Party . March 22, 2016, it was decided that party candidates are going to the polls from the Yabloko party.
Other parties
  • Party Great Patriotic War . On July 8, 2016, the party nominated 10 candidates in single-mandate constituencies and a single party list. [3]

On August 3, the Great Patriotic Party signed signatures for registering the party in the elections to the Legislative Assembly of Altai Territory. [four]

  • The Communists of Russia . On Friday, July 22, a meeting of the Electoral Commission of the Altai Territory was held, during which a decision was made to certify the regional list of candidates for deputies of the Altai Territory Legislative Assembly, nominated by the Political Party of the Communist Party of the Communists of Russia. The list includes 139 people nominated for 34 territorial groups. At the moment, the submitted documents have been sent to the relevant state bodies to verify their accuracy. This political party will have to collect signatures of 9,444 voters in their support. [five]
