The anti-fascist communist underground in Ukraine is the totality of the underground anti-fascist communist resistance organizations created by the CPSU (b) in the territory of the Ukrainian SSR temporarily seized by the Nazi invaders during the Great Patriotic War (1941-1945) .

History

The anti-fascist communist underground in the Ukrainian SSR totaled more than 100 thousand people, united in 3.5 thousand organizations and groups.

At the beginning of the occupation of Ukraine, out of the 23 underground regional committees formed at that time and 5 thousand city ​​committees , district committees and party cells, 13 regional committees and 390 city committees, district committees and party cells were able to deploy. To create an effective network of clandestine organizations behind enemy lines, the Soviet leadership sent special groups to the occupied territories. In Kiev, the Arsenalets organization operated.

From May 1942 until the end of 1944, 40 thousand communists and 11.5 thousand Komsomol members were sent over the front line. Basically, they were sent to areas of active activity of Soviet partisans , to the northern forest regions of Ukraine. In most of the and forest-steppe zones of Ukraine, in industrial centers and cities, the bulk of the anti-fascist underground was the local population, which was behind enemy lines.

For the general management of the struggle of the population of the occupied territories against the Nazi invaders , the illegal Central Committee of the CP (b) U has been created . A network of party underground spanned the entire territory of the Ukrainian SSR.
