Yaroslav Vladimirovich Potapov (born July 1, 1999 ) is a Russian swimmer . Member of the 2016 Olympic Games. Champion of Russia 2016 Master of Sports of Russia international class (2016) [2] .

Career
In 2015, Yaroslav won the silver medal of the European Open Swimming Championships in Tenero at a distance of 5 km, won the Russian Open Swimming Championships at a distance of 5 km and the 2015 Russian Short Course Swimming Championships at 1500 m freestyle .
In the championship of Russia in 2016, he won the 1500-meter freestyle with the qualifying standard for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro . At the same time, Yaroslav broke the youthful record of Russia, which belonged to Yury Prilukov , set back in 2002 (03/15/61 vs. 03/15/88) [3] . At the Olympics in Rio, he took the 14th place in the preliminary swim, not getting into the final [4] .
