Club career
Herrera began his career in the club Atletico Venezuela . On January 31, 2016, in his match against Estudiantes de Merida , he made his debut in the Venezuelan Example [2] . On March 5, in a duel against Aragua , Yangel scored his first goal for Estudiantes de Merida [3] . In early 2017, Herrera moved to English Manchester City . Immediately to get playing practice, Yangel was leased to the American New York City . On March 12, in his match against DC United he made his MLS debut, replacing Andrea Pirlo in the second half [4] . On April 30, in a duel against Columbus Crew , Yangel scored his first goal for New York City [5] . In MLS, Herrera spent two seasons, played 38 matches, scored one goal.
On January 16, 2019, Herrera was leased until the end of the 2018/19 season to the Spanish club Huesca [6] . On January 19, in his match against Atletico Madrid , he made his debut in La Liga [7] .
International Career
In 2015, as part of the Venezuelan youth team, Herrera took part in the youth championship of South America in Paraguay . In the tournament, he played in matches against the teams of Paraguay, Peru [8] , Brazil [9] and Colombia [10] .
In 2016, Herrera was in the application for participation in the America's Cup in the USA . At the tournament he was a substitute and never entered the field.
On October 12 of the same year, in the qualifying match of the 2018 World Cup against Brazil, Herrera made his debut for the Venezuelan national team [11] .
In 2017, Herrera took part in the South American Youth Championship in Ecuador . In the tournament, he played in a match against the teams of Peru [12] , Colombia [13] , Ecuador [14] , Brazil [15] , Uruguay [16] and Argentina [17] [18] . In fights against Ecuadorians and Peruvians, Yangel scored a goal.
In the same year, Herrera won the silver medal at the Youth World Championships in South Korea . In the tournament, he played in matches against teams of Germany [19] , Vanuatu [20] , Mexico [21] , Japan [22] , USA [23] , Uruguay [24] and England [25] . In a duel against the Japanese, Yangel scored a goal.
On October 11, 2017, in the qualifying match of the 2018 World Cup against the national team of Paraguay, Herrera scored his first goal for the national team [26] .
In 2019, Herrera took part in the America's Cup in Brazil . At the tournament, he played in matches against the national teams of Peru [27] , Brazil [28] and Argentina [29] .
