Jānis Gaujens ( Latvian: Jānis Gaujēns ; July 20, 1932 , Madona ) - Latvian and Soviet doctor. Laureate of the Paul Stradins Prize (2009). Doctor of Medical Sciences (1969, USSR), Habilitated Doctor (Latvia). From 1963 to 1969 - Head of the Surgery Department of the Republican Children's Clinical Hospital. In 1972 he was elected professor at the Riga Medical Institute . Since 1998, received the status of an emirified scientist.
