Biography
He studied in his native village and in the teacher training school in Berkovitsa . He taught for some time, then moved to Sofia. He studied diplomacy at the Free University (now the University of National and World Economy ) and law at Sofia University . As a journalist, he collaborated with the publications Zarya, Rositsa, and Detsky Glas. He published articles in "Svetulka", "Children’s joy" and others.
Member of the BKP . In 1941 he was arrested and imprisoned in the Enikoy concentration camp in Xanthi , in the territory of Greece occupied by the Bulgarians. He was later interned in the camp "St. Doctor "in Sandanski . He was released in 1944.
One of the founders and editor of the Septemvriyche newspaper (1945-1952). In 1953-1955 - cultural adviser to the Bulgarian embassy in Moscow.
In 1961-1965 - Editor of the newspaper " Shershen " ("Starshel"). Member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers.
The initiator of the creation of the House of Literature and Art for Children and Youth in Sofia and its first director. One of the founders and first president of the Bulgarian section of the International Council for Children's Books of the UNESCO Committee.
The author of the words of the hymn “Drink in the light of the Fatherland” of the Dimitrov pioneer organization “Septemvriyche” .
Translated from Russian into Bulgarian works for children of Leo Tolstoy , Korney Chukovsky , Sergei Mikhalkov , Agnia Barto .
Winner of the H.K. Andersen Prize (1986). Included in the Honorary Andersen List.
The Soviet Russian poetess E. Ya. Tarakhovskaya translated most of Bosev's poetry into Russian .
