One of the largest enterprises of the mining industry in the pre-revolutionary history of Donbass , Alekseevskoye mining industry has led its history since 1879 (the Charter of the Highest approved March 2, 1879) [1] . As is clear from the company's constituent document, the company was created “to develop coal deposits and other minerals in the estates of the Yekaterinoslav province of the Slavyanoserbsky district , in the village of Alekseyevka (aka Isakovka) and the Troops of the Don and Miussky Districts , in the settlement of Alekseyevka-Leonova belonging to full property rights to named persons ... ” [2]
The board of the Alekseevsky mining industry was located in Kharkov . Until 1901, its chairman was A.K. Alchevsky , a prominent Russian entrepreneur, industrialist, philanthropist, commerce advisor, founder of Russia's first joint-stock mortgage bank and financial and industrial group.
After Alchevsky’s suicide in 1901, the government granted a loan of 6 million rubles to Alekseevsky Mining Company , and the State Bank entered into an agreement with creditors on partial payment and deferment of claims. After that, the company came under the control of the State Bank and the leading creditors - the Volga-Kama Bank , the Petersburg Accounting and Loan Bank, and the E.M. Meyer and Co. ”, which allowed her to be saved from collapse. Under the influence of the economic crisis of the beginning of the 20th century, society continued to incur losses (fixed capital decreased from 6 million rubles in 1900 to 3 million in 1910). By 1911, a controlling stake was transferred to French-Belgian entrepreneurs led by E. De Censey and the Talman M. & Co banking house in Paris , part of the coal mines was sold to Donetsk-Yuryevsk Metallurgical Company (DYMO) , which owned a metallurgical plant in Alchevsk . Mining engineer, well-known entrepreneur, State Councilor N.S. Avdakov was elected Chairman of the Board. By 1914, fixed assets decreased to 1.8 million rubles [3]
The Alekseev Mining Society was liquidated on the basis of the decree of the Council of People's Commissars of June 15, 1918 on the nationalization of large industrial enterprises [4]
