Club career
Flamengo
Pupil " Flamengo " from Rio de Janeiro . He became the world champion in the Brazilian junior national team under the age of 17 in 1999.
Inter
After that, he was noticed by Inter scouts and bought by the team. Then he spent one season at Fiorentina on loan and joint ownership at Parma . He helped Inter with his double in the Italian Cup final to win the first trophy in many years.
Adriano is a powerful forward type rammer, who plays well with his head, with the kick delivered from his left foot. He also possessed high speed and physical data, which allowed him to adequately perform in the Italian Serie A.
In 2007, Adriano announced his problems with alcohol, but said that these problems are not as serious as they are written in some publications. In December, I went to Sao Paulo , where I was treated. Fully regaining his form and becoming the top scorer of “ Sao Paulo ”, he returned to Inter. Before the beginning of 2009, he managed to be noted by a couple of scandals and a conflict with Inter's head coach, Jose Mourinho , after that there was a mass of rumors about its sale or possible rent, which were refuted both by the club and by the player himself, who declared his desire to continue playing for Italian club.
Adriano opened his own scoring in 2009 on January 13 in the 1/8 Italian Cup match against Genoa : without scoring a penalty in the first half, he managed to distinguish himself in the second half with a header, this was the first goal of the match. As a result, the match ended in a victory for Inter 3: 1, and Adriano was replaced in the middle of the second half.
On April 24, 2009, the mutual termination of the player’s contract with Inter was announced. Later he confessed the reasons for leaving the club:
“After the death of my father, I became depressed, which I could cope with only by drinking. I felt happy only when I drank, so I drank incessantly. I drank everything that came to hand: wine, whiskey, beer. I came to the training drunk. I did not sleep, so as not to be late for training, but came to the base in indecent condition. I was sent to sleep in one of the premises of the base, and the journalists were told that Adriano had a muscle injury ” [1] [2] .
Return to Flamengo
On May 6, 2009, Adriano signed a contract with the Brazilian club Flamengo , in which he began his career. In December 2009, together with the club became the champion of Brazil , scoring 19 goals for the championship in 30 matches. For Flamengo, this was the first victory in the national championship since 1992.
Roma
On June 8, 2010, Adriano, in the status of a free agent, signed a contract with Roma for a period of 3 years [3] with a salary of 5 million euros per year, plus bonuses [4] . A day later, a presentation of the forward took place [5] [6] . On September 22, 2010, he made his debut for Jalorossi in an away match against Brescia (at the beginning of the second half, came on as a substitute for Jeremy Menez ) [7] . On March 8, 2011, Adriano’s contract with Roma was terminated by mutual agreement of the parties [8] [9] .
Corinthians
On March 28, 2011, Adriano signed a one and a half year contract with Corinthians [10] [11] [12] . Footballer said:
Three or four clubs tried to get me, but I talked to Ronaldo , he told me about the atmosphere in Corinthians, and I decided to become part of a large and friendly family. I want to score a lot of goals and not create problems for anyone. I left Roma without any problems - quietly and quickly. I realized that I have no reason to stay here. Over the past year, I managed to get three serious injuries. I realized that it was a sign: the time had come to return to my homeland [13] .
In April, Adriano injured his Achilles tendon , which was why his career was threatened [14] . On October 9, 2011, he made his debut for Corinthians in a home match of the 28th round of the 2011 Brazilian Championship against Atletico Goianiense (in the 79th minute he replaced Alex instead) [15] [16] [17] . However, in subsequent games, the football player did not participate due to overweight problems [18] . On March 12, 2012, he became a free agent after the club terminated an agreement with a football player by mutual agreement due to disagreements with the club management [19] .
Second return to Flamengo
On August 21, 2012, Adriano signed a contract with Flamengo for a period of 1 year [20] [21] [22] . On November 7, Flamengo management unilaterally terminated the contract.
Atletico Paranaence
From February to April 2014, he was an Atletico Paranaense player, who left due to cancellation of the contract due to the omission of training sessions [23] .
On December 26, 2014, the French Le Havre confirmed the agreement on Adriano’s transition [24] [25] , but the Brazilian’s transition did not take place [26] .
Miami United
On January 29, 2016, Adriano became a playing co-owner of the Miami United Football Club, which represents the fourth largest American division. Forward bought 40 percent of the shares, the 34-year-old Brazilian received $ 10 thousand a month as a football player. On May 27, 2016, Adriano left Miami United, but the club requires his presence in friendly matches.
Career in the national team
On November 15, 2000, at the age of 18, Adriano was first called to the Brazilian national team for the qualifying match with Colombia. He was often considered the long-term successor to Ronaldo. On June 11, 2003, he scored his first international goal in a friendly match against Nigeria. Later that month was included in the Brazilian national team in 2003 for the Confederations Cup.
In 2004 he became the winner of the America's Cup , and in 2005 the winner of the Confederations Cup . Adriano won the Golden Boot as the top scorer of the competition with seven goals.
In 2005, Adriano again had an impressive tournament, this time in the 2005 Confederations Cup. Adriano was named the Tournament Player and received the Golden Booth Award as the top scorer of the competition with five goals. In the final, he led Brazil to victory, scoring two goals over Argentina (4: 1). On June 18, 2006, Adriano was called to the 2006 FIFA World Cup, scoring his first goal against Australia (2-0).
International career Adriano declined due to a series of bad performances at the club and personal problems. In 2008, Adriano regained his uniform during his stay in Sao Paulo and received a call to the national team. On October 10, 2008, Adriano scored his first international goal in two years in the qualifying tournament of the World Cup against Venezuela. He was a regular member of the Brazil national team during the qualification of the World Cup, and was attracted to the last friendly team before the 2010 World Cup against the Republic of Ireland. However, Adriano was one of two players who retired from the final list of a team of 23 players by coach Dunga, along with Carlos Eduardo (who replaced the injured Elano against Ireland). Reserve injured Luis Fabiano in the game of Ireland, took Graphite, instead of Adriano.
