Born December 19, 1943 in Moscow .
Education
He graduated from the Kalinin Suvorov Military School ( 1955-1962 ); Moscow Higher Military Command School named after the Supreme Soviet of the RSFSR ( 1962-1965 ); political courses (1967); Military Academy named after MV Frunze ( 1970-1973 ); Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces named after KE Voroshilov (1982-1984).
Military Service
He served the commander of a motorized infantry platoon (1965-1967), deputy commander of an infantry company for political affairs (1967-1968), commander of the infantry company (1968-1970) Guards Motorized Rifle Regiment of Guards Motorized Rifle Division in the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany, deputy commander of a motorized infantry regiment ( 1973), chief of staff of a motorized rifle regiment (1973–1975), commander of a motorized rifle regiment (1975–1977), deputy commander (1977–1979) and commander (1979–1982) of the 108th motorized rifle Nevelsk division in the Turkestan Military District.
Major General (10/30/1981). In 1979-1982 he took part in the hostilities in Afghanistan. In August 1982, he was appointed deputy commander of the 40th Army . In June 1984 - December 1986 - First Deputy Commander of the 6th Combined Arms Army. In December 1986 - May 1988. - Commander of the 6th Combined Arms Army of the Leningrad Military District. From May 1988 to March 1989 - Commander of the 2nd Guards Tank Army of the Group of Soviet Forces in Germany [1] . From March 1989 to August 1991 - First Deputy Commander of the Leningrad Military District.
In August - November 1991 - Commander of the Baltic Military District .
From November 1991 to June 1992 - Commander of the North-Western Group of Forces (former Baltic Military District).
From June 1992 - Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation . His work was closely linked with training, development of the military education system and work with personnel. At the same time, he was authorized by the Russian Federation on issues of temporary stay and withdrawal of troops and fleet forces from the territory of the Baltic States. In February 1995, he was relieved of the post of Deputy Minister of Defense of the Russian Federation.
Since March 1995 - Chief Military Expert under the Government of the Russian Federation .
In November 1998, dismissed and dismissed from military service.
He died on April 20, 2006, was buried in Moscow at the Troekurovsky cemetery [2] .
