Career
He began to play in the youth team “Wings of the Soviets” with Petrov and Zaitsev . In 1965 he was invited to take the Wings double. On May 8, 1966 he made his debut in the Premier League in a home match against the Tashkent “Pakhtakor” , replacing Anatoly Kazakov in the 60th minute. Due to the merger of “Wings of the Soviets” and “Metallurg” in early 1970, Starkov ended up in Togliatti. In 1971-1972, together with a large group of Kuibyshev football players ( Voronin , Kovalev , Korablev , Kotlyarov , Mineev , Petrov , Starukhin , Timofeev , Yutkin ) he served in the Khabarovsk SKA. In 1973 he returned to Wings of the Soviets. in 1974 spent a season at the Sakhalin club from Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, after which he did not play at a high level anymore. In 1975 he played in the Kuibyshev Mayak. In 1976 he moved to Surgut, where for many years he played for the local "Oilman" in regional and industry tournaments.
