Ceropegy ( lat. Ceropegia ) - a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Kutrovye ( Apocynaceae ). In nature, common in tropical regions of Africa and Asia.

The scientific name of the genus is derived from the ancient-Greek. κηροπήγιος - “candelabrum”, which refers to the unusual form of flowers of plants.
Content
Botanical description
Erect or lazy perennial herbaceous plants, usually with clear juice, often with succulent stems or leaves. Sometimes form spindle rhizome or tuber.
Flowers in axillary umbellate or racemose inflorescences , five-membered, large. Calyx at the base of the lobes with glands. The corolla is tubular, with a double crown: the outer lobes are often bilobed, the inner lobes are filiform to spatulate. Stamens fused into the tube.
Fruits - leaflets linear, cylindrical or spindle-shaped.
Value
Many species of the genus are decorative and are grown as indoor plants.
