He received his law degree, was a lawyer, censor of Spanish theaters ( 1851 - 1856 ), etc. His main work is the five-volume History of Spain ( Spanish Historia de España ; Madrid , 1860 - 1864 ), which he managed to bring to Philip II . Cavanilles also owns various journalistic works - especially in his favorite form of dialogue; in the collection of such dialogues ( Spanish: “Diálogos politicos y literários” ; 1859 ), various historical persons, from Napoleon to Cervantes , participate in the conversations, and among the topics covered are socialism , homeopathy , various historical events, etc.
